The Marketplace at Wesselhof Farms | Our Story
A Family Farm, A Place To Gather
The Marketplace at Wesselhof Farms grew from the Wesling family's produce and plant stand into a farm, café, and marketplace in Lafayette Township. The idea remains personal: grow good food, prepare it with care, and give our neighbors a welcoming place to enjoy it.
Today, a visit might mean breakfast with family, lunch with a friend, or a stop for seasonal produce and something homemade to take home. Each part of the Marketplace belongs to that same story, rooted in this land and in the people who return to it.
It Started On Sunset Inn Road
In 2008, the Wesling family opened a produce and plant stand on Sunset Inn Road. For ten years, that stand was a place to share what was growing and connect with the community around the farm.
It also planted the idea for something larger. The Marketplace would bring those same connections indoors, making room for a café, a scratch bakery, and foods to enjoy at home. What began as a simple roadside stop became the foundation for the place you visit today.
Making Room For The Marketplace
The family broke ground on The Marketplace at Wesselhof Farms in 2020, creating a home for the next chapter of the farm. Under one roof, guests could find a meal at the café, something from the pastry case, and ingredients or prepared foods for their own tables.
The Marketplace gives us a way to welcome people beyond the growing season. It brings the farm, kitchen, and community together, whether you are stopping for coffee or making a visit part of your family's weekend.
75 Acres, Cared For Through The Seasons
Our farm covers 75 acres in Lafayette Township. We use organic gardening methods and follow the seasons, harvesting produce when it is ripe and ready for the café and marketplace.
Growing food keeps us close to the ingredients we serve. Our own harvest is complemented by food from local partner farms and other ingredients chosen by our kitchen. As the seasons change, so does the selection, giving our cooks and our guests something different to look forward to throughout the year.
Come For A Meal. Make It A Tradition.
Some guests come for Sunday lunch. Others meet family for breakfast, stop for a favorite sandwich, or browse the freezer case before heading home. We love that Wesselhof has become part of so many everyday routines.
You don't need a special occasion to visit. Bring a friend, choose something from the bakery, and spend a little time in the countryside. Whether you live nearby or have made the drive to see us, we want you to feel welcome at the table and glad you stopped.
